In Connecticut, trying to find a good auto insurance company can be trying. If you don’t know the agent, or what you need, or the other things that may that you aren’t aware of that were added in and then you’ll find yourself doing the “process of elimination” on each company until you find the right one.
I live in Connecticut. I was recommended to check out State Farm Insurance. It was because those folks have their insurance through them with Doug Brown, a mutual acquaintance.
Doug has been helping me with my insurance as I go along. I’m still learning about all the cool tools that are in place with this insurance company to help the customer.
Always read all the details of the automotive insurance before signing up with any on of them. If you have any questions, you should call the main number on their site and talk to someone who can answer them. If you don’t feel comfortable with them, find another insurance company to deal with.
Depending on the year, make, model, mileage, and sometimes condition can determine what types of insurance are available to you. You need to know what they all are so you can make a good choice for what you need and what you can afford.
I have an older car, so isn’t eligible for the safety discount. It has one airbag, but since it doesn’t have all the computer stuff on it like the new cars do, it just doesn’t qualify. I did qualify to get a device/app to put in the car to help lower my insurance rates under the good driver discount.
If you’re not sure what you need, ask the Agent to tell you what your car is eligible for and go from there. Once you get an answer to your questions, tell them what you’re looking for.
Many insurance companies can “bundle” other types of insurance into what you get. If you’re not sure how this works, ask how you can do this.
Types of Insurance
State Farm offers many different types of insurance. You can “bundle” these into your automotive insurance and therefore pay a lower price for doing that.
You can visit the site and click on the Learn More buttons to read the details.
Insurance Money Savers
I love the fact that State Farm has so many ways to save money. Some months ago, I had some financial difficulties and wasn’t able to pay the whole monthly amount, so I talked with Doug and he told me that they allow a discounted rate (the rest of the amount to be paid the following month) only three times during the year.
I’ve used it twice last year. I was very grateful for the information and that I was saved from losing my insurance because I didn’t have enough to cover the whole premium for the month.
I use the “Drive Safe & Save” device and app applies to only my driving. I don’t pay for other people’s bad driving issues.
It came in the mail and you have to download the app, turn on the machine, and put it in your car. If there are other drivers in the family, you can add them too. (Directions are in the app.)
Bundling your insurance coverage will save you money as well. I also have renter’s insurance with State Farm. I wanted to cover my butt in case something happened and I needed to replace my furniture, computer, clothing and stuff.
The “Good Driving Class” is also offered through State Farm to help get you lower rates as well. I really want to do this at some point because it will help lower my rates and as I drive cars around for work, this is a real benefit.
If you live in or are moving to Connecticut, need an insurance quote, or need to ask some questions about automotive and other insurance – Doug Brown is your man.
I highly recommend State Farm as it is the best that I have found so far for my insurance needs. Doug is always there to help me if I have a question or run into a problem I can’t solve.
You can find him in South Windsor, CT. If you need to know how to contact him to get more information… please visit his State Farm website.
I like being able to do things that need to be done on the car. finding the information I need to repair it, find the best deal on parts and accessories for it. Did you enjoy the article? Please feel free to ask a question, make a suggestion or leave a comment below.
